Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026 · Version 2.2 (business enquiry notifications)
This policy covers the PourFinder pre-launch website at pourfinder.co.uk, its interest registration and venue and brewery enquiry forms. The full app will have a separate policy covering accounts, check-ins and location. This policy does not cover those features.
1. Who we are
PourFinder is operated by PourFinder Ltd, company number 17453732, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact enquiries@pourfinder.co.uk.
2. What we collect on this site
Business enquiries. We ask for your business name, contact name, email and town or region. You may add a website or social profile, your interest in a demonstration, testing or launch, whether you also operate a brewery or venue, and a message. We record your 18+ confirmation, the enquiry time, the form and notice version, and whether you separately requested optional email updates. A named campaign code in the link you followed may be saved with the enquiry to identify the outreach that brought it to us.
The general interest form. This collects your email and selected role (drinker, venue or brewery), an 18+ confirmation and any additional details you supply, such as your town, name or business name.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages and time. We use it to keep the site running and investigate abuse. We do not build advertising profiles from it.
These forms do not request a date of birth, precise device location, passwords, POS credentials or payment details. Please do not put sensitive information in the message.
3. How submissions are stored
Venue and brewery enquiry forms save a record in our application database. It is available to the PourFinder team in the business application queue. We also send an internal notification containing the enquiry to our enquiries inbox through Resend. The saved record remains available if that email cannot be delivered. The success screen confirms the record was saved; it does not promise an acknowledgement email to you.
The general interest form delivers your details to our enquiries inbox by email. That email is the record for that form, rather than a website subscriber database. An acknowledgement email is attempted, but delivery is not guaranteed.
4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Responding to business enquiries: our legitimate interest in answering requests about taking part in PourFinder and organising pre-launch participation. Where applicable, we also process details to take steps you request before a possible contract.
Optional business, testing and launch emails: consent when you tick the separate, optional updates box. We keep its wording and version with the record. The required 18+ confirmation is not marketing consent. Sending a business enquiry without opting in does not subscribe you to general promotional emails.
General launch-interest registrations: the updates you request by submitting the clearly labelled interest form. That request is separate from its age confirmation. We do not expand it to unrelated marketing.
Security and reliability: legitimate interests in preventing abuse and keeping the website available. We also use submitted campaign codes to understand which business outreach generated enquiries, not to follow your browsing across websites.
You can withdraw consent or object to direct marketing at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Service providers process data on our behalf: Vercel hosts the site and technical logs; our hosted application database stores business enquiries; Resend delivers business enquiry notifications and emails from the general interest form; and our Google Workspace / Gmail enquiries inbox holds incoming messages and correspondence.
We may disclose information where required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.
6. Where your data is processed
Our providers may process information outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. Transfers require appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact enquiries@pourfinder.co.uk for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data.
7. How long we keep it
We retain business enquiries while dealing with the enquiry and discussing participation. We review pre-launch records when launch communications conclude, and delete records that are no longer needed unless there is an ongoing relationship or a legal reason to retain them. An ongoing business relationship will be covered by the relevant account policy.
General launch-interest emails are retained until launch communications conclude or you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe, we stop marketing and retain only the minimum opt-out information needed to avoid contacting you again. You may also ask us to delete your enquiry.
Technical logs are retained by the hosting provider for security and diagnostics and rotated according to its retention settings. Contact us for details relevant to a request.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can always object to direct marketing or withdraw marketing consent.
Deletion requests can cover both database enquiry records and inbox correspondence. To stop optional emails, reply STOP or email us to unsubscribe. A request is handled by the team; you do not need an app account.
To exercise your rights, contact enquiries@pourfinder.co.uk. We will respond within one month, subject to any extension permitted by law. We may need to confirm your identity. Normally there is no charge.
9. Data protection complaints
Please contact enquiries@pourfinder.co.uk with the subject “Data protection complaint” so we can investigate. We will acknowledge the complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome.
You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office without contacting us first: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. The ICO helpline is 0303 123 1113.
10. Children
PourFinder is for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18. Contact us if someone under 18 has submitted details so we can remove them.
11. Cookies
The new business enquiry journey does not add analytics cookies, tracking pixels or local-storage tracking. Campaign codes pass through links and are saved only with an enquiry. See the Cookie Policy for the website's necessary cookies.
12. Changes to this policy
When the site's data handling changes, we update this page and the version and date above. This is version 2.2 (business enquiry notifications).
